Cisco CCIE recruiting appears to be a nasty dog eat dog struggle

It's been my experience that when Cisco knowingly and willingly publishes inaccurate information, it's because something has become very, very rotten in San Jose!

Hummelstown, PA:   Tue, 7/30/13 - 11:59pm    View comments

More than a month ago, I spoke on the phone with and then emailed the following Cisco CCIE Career Certification Executive:

Cara Ann Sloman
Email: csloman@cisco.com
Direct Cisco Telephone Line: 831-440-2411
According to Sloman's Cisco job description:

"I am the point of contact for Learning@Cisco (Cisco Career Certifications)."

Here's the email I sent to Sloman, and since then, well, lets just say that I've been the recipient of a total wall of silence from Cisco:

Email to Cisco regarding inaccurate 2013 Worldwide Cisco CCIE Count sent by Brad Reese

So why would I be the recipient of a total wall of silence from Cisco?

Well, perhaps because I contacted Cisco for an explanation as to why Cisco knowingly and willfully published the following inaccurate 2013 Worldwide CCIE Count, page 10.

Here are the two inaccurate counts (see below):

  1. Total of Worldwide CCIEs = 38,005
  2. Total of Routing and Switching CCIEs = 27,552

Astonishingly in 2012, Cisco bragged in the below confidential slide presentation (page 5), it only had 23,000+ CCIEs:

It's been my experience that when Cisco knowingly and willingly publishes inaccurate information, it's because something has become very, very rotten in San Jose!

That's why in my opinion Cisco's giving the appearance of something being amiss in its highly respected and very prestigious CCIE Program.

I mean, what other logical explanation can there be for Cisco to knowingly and willingly publish an inaccurate 2013 Worldwide CCIE Count (page 10)?

Alarmingly earlier this week, I received the following email message asking if pursuing a CCIE is both a lost cause and a journey into the land of has-beens:

Then earlier today, BradReeseCom received the following bizarre comment about a Cisco CCIE Recruiter:

Bizarre comment about a CCIE Recruiter

Personally, I was taken back by this comment because the Cisco CCIE Recruiter mentioned, had been very successful in the Cisco CCIE Training industry and had started the following boutique specialty CCIE recruiting outfit that now seems to be defunct:

Platinum Placement Services

I'm hoping readers can provide the rest of this story, because it certainly appears to me that Cisco CCIE Recruiting has now become a very nasty dog eat dog struggle, hopefully I'm wrong, however, what's your take?
