It's my personal opinion that RBC Capital Markets Managing Director - Mark Sue, dropped a heck of a bombshell about Cisco in his note to yours truly today:
"Execution wise, there appear to be increasing rifts between management and engineering due to the department's restructuring, something that we believe needs to be resolved if the stock is to attract more investors."
It was only 4-months ago that I blogged about the discord between Cisco engineers and Cisco technical marketing that became the most commented blog story I've ever written, 160 comments to date!
Additionally, the "common denominator" in Cisco's high-level executive departures appears to be none other than Cisco's Senior Vice President Engineering / Chief Technology Officer - Padmasree Warrior.
Readers may recall that at her previous employer, Cisco CEO John Chambers' heir apparent, Padmasree Warrior, led Motorola as its Chief Technology Officer to a sales decline of more than -$4 billion while simultaneously Motorola's operating earnings collapsed by -$3.8 billion to a loss of -$534 million (page 1).
However most revealingly earlier this week, a well-respected former Cisco sales engineer made the following "key observation" about Padmasree Warrior:
"Padma is a really nice and likable person, but she's in way over her head as CTO of Cisco. There are a lot of tough decisions to make in that role which due to her incompetence she has avoided, procrastinated, or delegated to equally incompetent underlings or peers."
