Cisco senior management shake-up: Pankaj Patel in, Marthin De Beer out
According to an internal Cisco memo, the 14,825 direct reports of Cisco senior vice president and general manager, video and collaboration, Marthin De Beer, will now report directly to Cisco executive vice president and chief development officer, Pankaj Patel, who previously had 39,056 direct reports.
Dr. Abe Peled (who had reported to Marthin De Beer) has also left Cisco according to his LinkedIn Profile. Peled was the former Chairman and CEO of Cisco's $5 billion dollar acquisiton, NDS.

Cisco's Director of Corporate Communications, David McCulloch, has confirmed both the senior management shake-up and the existence of yet another internal Cisco memo where Marthin De Beer has stated:
"I have been dealing with significant family health issues and have decided to step away from my current role at Cisco for the next year in order to best meet the needs of my family."
A key direct report to De Beer was the former Chairman and CEO of NDS, Dr. Abe Peled.
NDS is Cisco's troubled $5 billion video software acquisition whose year-over-year sales are now in decline according to Cisco's Q1'FY14 financial results.
"He spearheads the company's worldwide strategy and development efforts around collaboration and service provider video, having responsibility for $9 billion in revenues and a global workforce."
