This week Cisco's famed technical superstar, Jimmy Ray Purser, found his "dream job" with enterprise data center and cloud computing security startup, Illumio.
The following is Purser's take on his new gig with Illumio (after a 9-year tenure with Cisco's TechWiseTV):
"The most incredible feats of engineering like the SR71, U2, Lotus Racing, the Millau Viaduct have been accomplished with one principle:
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
"Let me show you how this works and you'll be amazed as I was the first time I saw it. This is what I do. I show you how to secure this high speed dynamic world, no matter where it goes... Illumio secures your network rock solid no matter which regulations you have to comply with or how you designed it."
Putting Jimmy Ray Purser's accomplishments at Cisco in perspective:
"This diligence has made TechWiseTV productions the single most valuable video property at Cisco. Bringing in more viewers and follow thru sales calls then anything else at Cisco. It has been directly responsible for over 450 million dollars (USD) in trackable global sales."
At Illumio, Purser will be joining the highly respected Cisco veteran, Alan Cohen, who formerly led marketing for Cisco's $25 billion enterprise portfolio:
Collaboration, Telepresence, Switching, Routing, Wireless, Security & Data Center.
Perhaps Cohen's most famous gig was his position as Vice President of Marketing for Cisco's most lethal SDN competitor, Nicira, acquired by VMware for $1.26 BILLION.
