3-months ago Cisco outraged its army of 2,341 CCIE Voice engineers by retiring its prestigious and highly coveted Voice track. Then last week after all the brouhaha, Cisco announced it would not retire the CCIE Voice track. However, candidates will have until only February 13, 2014 to obtain a CCIE Voice cert.
Meanwhile according to Cisco, current and future CCIE Voice engineers must now choose one of the following 3-options:
Between November 21, 2013 and February 13, 2016 permanently convert their CCIE Voice certification to a CCIE Collaboration certification.
Pass both the CCIE Collaboration Written Exam and the CCIE Collaboration Lab Exam and then receive a CCIE Collaboration certification in addition to the previously earned CCIE Voice certification.
