Cloud-based enterprise-class unified communications solutions advisor, Steve Taggart, is excited about Microsoft Lync becoming Skype for Business.
Last week emerging IT and Telecom research outfit, Synergy Research, published its report:
Microsoft Again Trails Cisco as UC Collaboration Market Hits All-Time High
Source: Synergy Research
According to Synergy President Jeremy Duke:
"The real bright spot for Microsoft is that it has clear leadership in hosted/cloud solutions which are also the highest growth part of the market. Cisco dominates in premise-based solutions but the general trend is for hosted/cloud revenues to catch up with and surpass premise-based revenues."
Interestingly, here's how Steve Taggart, founder of the cloud hosted solutions advisor, WideNet Outfitters, sees the Skype for Business vs. Cisco enterprise UC collaboration rivalry:
"Different users in your organization can use either or both best-of-breed solutions. We offer enterprise-class voice quality, feature-rich desk phones, soft phones and a full integration with cell phones. The result is a robust, fexible voice offering that easily scales and adapts to the changing needs of your organization.
"Manage Cisco, Skype for Business, Email and Conferencing solutions interchangeably by user based within a location."
