More of Cisco's top security talent leave to join startups
Phone: 408 526-4000
Dave Frampton has decided to leave Cisco to pursue an early stage venture. A seventeen-year Cisco veteran, Dave held key leadership roles in the routing, switching and application delivery businesses before joining the Security Access Mobility Product Group as the General Manager.
Over the past two years, Dave's results focused approach has led the team to success, including double digit growth in the SAMPG portfolio, shipping 100M AnyConnect Clients, and growing the ISE business to over 6,500 customers with significant penetration in large enterprises.
With Dave's departure, I have decided to realign the security business and position ourselves for continued growth and tighter integration with the rest of Cisco's security portfolio. ISE and the SAMPG products have reached a level of maturity where now is a good time to operate them as we do our other products.
Our primary focus will be on functional alignment with the other parts of the Cisco Security team. This new alignment will help us better integrate ISE and components like pxGrid with the rest of the security product portfolio. With this in mind, I am making the following changes to the team, effective September 1st.
The engineering team under Vijaya Kaza will join the Products and Platform Engineering group under David Goeckeler. The product management team under Russell Rice will join the Product Management team under Scott Harrell.
David, Scott, Russell, Vijaya and I are available to discuss any questions as we move through this transition. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A at our SBG All Hands meeting on Thursday.
Over the past year, the security business has made huge strides in market share and mind share, delivering industry leading innovative solutions to our customers and becoming a trusted advisor to solve their most challenging business problems.
Please join me in wishing Dave all the best in his new endeavor and thank you for your continued commitment to Cisco and the Security Group.

I'm now available to meet with interested parties in New York City.
