Update: 8-24-2011
This news story has been delayed because the CBS News producer in charge, Erin George, is in North Carolina covering Hurricane Irene.
CBS News is not looking for former employees to slam Cisco or violate any agreements, just speak about being part of a mass layoff - a growing segment of unemployment these days. It will be about the challenges THEY will be facing now.
Wherever you're located, CBS is willing to put film crews on standby, so call CBS News Producer - Erin George at 323-575-2831 or email her at georgee@cbsnews.com
CBS News will be airing on its national TV news show a feature story that will discuss in general terms the impact of the Cisco mass layoff.
CBS News would prefer to speak to "rank and file" Cisco employees who can discuss the effect of the layoff on their life in general.
Basic questions CBS News would like to ask laid off Cisco employees:
1. What is it like to be newly unemployed?
2. What was it like knowing mass layoffs were coming?
3. Where do you go from here, how do you start looking for a new job, are you concerned?
