Did Cisco bill for dummy offshore resources while actual resources were B1 visas working in the U.S.?
"The case has drawn the attention of Iowan Republican Senator Charles Grassley, who asked in a letter Wednesday for an update on the status of the government's investigation into Infosys by the end of the month."
"A former account manager with Infosys, was asked to convince a client to falsify billing records so that it would not appear that Infosys workers were working on client sites in the United States. He was told to 'bring a client into confidence' and ask that outsourced Infosys employees working on the site be billed for dummy resources outside the United States, who were not involved in the client's business.
"When he refused, he was told the practice was already done for Cisco, another client. In those cases, a client manager persuaded the client to bill for dummy offshore resources while the actual resource was on a B1 visa working at the client location.
"A spokeswoman for Cisco declined to comment.
